Zantho Winery
ZANTHO stands for natural wines from regional grape varieties cultivated in and around Andau. Founded in 2002, the company now cultivates almost 70 hectares sustainably. The wines with the Pannonian forest lizard on the label are known far beyond the country's borders.
The name ZANTHO is derived from the oldest documented mention of Andau in 1487 as “Zantho”.
The vineyards are cultivated by around 50 local families in a way that is close to nature and gentle on beneficial insects, with no use of herbicides.
The focus is on indigenous grape varieties that are optimally adapted to the regional conditions.
With the construction of the new winery, ZANTHO is setting an example in terms of sustainability: the energy self-sufficient building is powered entirely by solar energy. All red wines are produced vegan and the winery is “Nachhaltig Austria” certified.

The labels are adorned with the Pannonian forest lizard, the “Dadaraxl”, a symbol of the origin and natural cultivation of the vineyards.
ZANTHO wines are exported to over 40 countries and reflect the values of closeness to nature, quality awareness and cosmopolitanism.
